2013 Tournament of Roses Parade

The Jackson Memorial High School Jaguar Band has been officially chosen to represent the entire mid-Atlantic region in the Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, California, and is hoping the Jackson community will come together to help them get there. Winter Pep Rally:
Posted: February 3rd, 2012

Friday February 10th to honor Winter Sports: Basketball, Wrestling, Winter Track, etc.

The Band and Color Guard members should meet in the Memorial Gym, 10 minutes prior to the beginning of Period 4. They should wear their red band polos, and have their instruments in school that day, for the performance.

If students need a pass from their teacher, they may see me ahead of time, and will ONLY be allowed out, 10 minutes till Period 4.

ALL SHORE Band Auditions Procedure
Posted: January 24th, 2012

Download Application. Fill out, read the schedule and sign. Have your parents sign, and also have your principal sign. Please give Mr. McCormick with a $10.00 check, made out to Mr. McCormick who will write out 1 check from our school to ASBDA.

ALL APPLICATIONS MUST BE SIGNED and GIVEN to me NO LATER than THURSDAY – February 9th, 2012...

Applications must be postmarked by February 10, 2012 to be considered on time. Applications postmarked February 11, 2012 through February 17, 2012 will require a late fee of $10.00 per application to be processed. Any applications that are postmarked February 18, 2012 or later will be returned.

You must include ONE check or money order made payable to The All-Shore Band Director’s Association. The check MUST be from the school or from the Band Director. Checks from parents or cash will be returned and late fees will be assessed.

Tournament of Roses Parade:

Trip deposit - We need a $300.00 deposit from EACH student by the February 14th meeting. Please give the deposit to Roberta Dickinson or mail to PO Box 800, Jackson, NJ 08527.

For those parents who are planning on attending the Tournament of Roses Parade, we have put together this information package to aid you in your planning. The band will be arriving in California on December 28, 2012 and returning to NJ on January 2, 2013.

Rose Parade Grandstand Seats:

Tickets go on sale for the 2013 parade on February 1st.

All parents attending the parade will need a grandstand ticket, even chaperones. No chaperones are allowed to walk with the band and sidewalk space is only available to those who camp out over-night to secure it.

Calendar Raffle

The Jackson Memorial Band Parents Association is sponsoring a calendar raffle as part of its ongoing fund raising efforts for the 2013 Tournament of Roses Parade. A total of 500 numbered calendars will be sold at a cost of $40 each.

Drawings will be held for each week, Monday through Saturday, beginning in April 2012, and will continue through March 2013.

Prizes will be awarded in the amounts printed in the calendar for each day, and no substitution of prizes will be made. Total value of cash prizes to be awarded will not exceed $10,000.

Winners will receive their prize checks each month via U.S. Mail based upon information provided at the time of purchase, and need not be present at the drawing in order to win. Winning numbers will be posted weekly at www.jacksonjaguarband.com. All proceeds will benefit the Jackson Memorial Band Parents Association Travel Fund.

Jackson Jaguar Band and Band Parent Alumni
Jaguar Band Alumni Lauren Delesky was just announced as Manchester Township NEW Band Director this past week. Lauren graduated from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania, IUP and will be teaching the Marching Hawks, and bringing them to our “Showcase of Champions” at Jack Munley Field on Saturday, October 1st, 2011. We wish her well. Jaguar Band Alumni Chris Dunn was just selected as a member of the United States Marine Drum and Bugle Corps from Washington, DC. Chris was accepted into the Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland this past June, and will be playing his Tuba is this prestigious group. Jaguar Band Alumni: Jesse Garcia and Andrew Rubano won a WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP this past week in Indianapolis, Indiana by marching with The Cadets Drum and Bugle Corps from Allentown, Pennsylvania. Jesse and Andrew toured the country with the 150 member group and won the Championships over 65 drum corps from around the world. Jaguar Band Alumni Eugene Garner made 1st chair as Alto Sax for the University of Delaware Jazz Band.
